The 2025–2026 Pastoral & Impact Report
THE BREATH & THE BOOTPRINT
"The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit." — John 3:8
To our scattered global family of vowed religious, oblates, covenant partners, and friends: Pax vobiscum.
The Paradox of a Borderless Abbey
We live out a profound daily paradox: we are a Monastery Without Walls. We are bound by a single, ancient Rule of Saint Benedict, yet physically scattered across the vast landscapes of the United States and Latin America.
When we built this foundation, we deliberately paired two words:
Ekklēsía: The ancient Greek concept of the assembly of the called-out ones.
Iwigá: The beautiful Rarámuri word for the life-breath of the soul, the Holy Spirit.
This past year, that sacred breath didn't just stay in our chapels. It moved dynamically into the world, transforming our interior prayers (Ora) into tangible, life-saving Labora (work) through our twin outreach engines.
Ministry Focus 1: Diakonia Americas
Protecting the Vulnerable on the Move
True to Chapter 53 of the Rule of St. Benedict, we are commanded to welcome the stranger as Christ Himself. Our physical Hospitality Hubs and shelter networks have provided continuous, trauma-informed sanctuary to migrating families.
The New Gold Standard of Safety: Following an extensive, audited review this year, we successfully deployed our updated, ironclad Child & Vulnerable Adult Safety Policy across all cross-border operations. With 100% of our on-site personnel trained, our hubs stand as strict, certified anti-exploitation spaces.
Dignity in Transit: Through strategic mutual-aid distribution, we coordinated the direct delivery of emergency medical kits, clean water, and dignity packs to grassroots shelters.
Absolute Client Privacy: We successfully delivered this multi-million dollar aid without ever exposing the faces or locations of vulnerable children to digital tracing or corporate data-mining.
Ministry Focus 2: The Expat Care & Transition Center
A Digital Sanctuary for Soul-Care
Directed by Father Justo Hurtado, PhD, alongside our certified chaplains, our secure, encrypted Zanda portal has completely redefined modern pastoral direction for global citizens navigating profound geographical or internal uprootedness.
The Solidarity Fund Engine
Our financial model proved its immense resilience this year. By inviting a voluntary, recommended $50 contribution from expats living comfortably abroad, our community completely cross-subsidized and fully sustained hundreds of zero-cost care spots for those in acute systemic distress.
Accompanying Reverse Migrants: These fully funded spots provided immediate, trauma-sensitive spiritual stabilization for low-income immigrants, self-deported individuals, and families processing the intense disruption of forced relocation.
An Uncompromising Open Door: True to our Benedictine identity, we successfully honored our sacred promise: not a single traveler was turned away due to an inability to pay.
Our Shared Footprint: The Year in Metrics
We don't need dense accounting sheets to show that our borderless collective is working. The raw human fruit of your stewardship speaks for itself:
MetricStrategic Impact & Deployment

Looking Ahead Under the Mantle of Guadalupe
As we step into the remainder of 2026, we look forward to the future under the maternal protection of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, the Patroness of the Americas, who uniquely understands the heart of the traveler.
Our upcoming milestones are clear:
Expanding our bilingual spiritual and liturgical digital resources.
Onboarding a new cohort of ecumenical associate clergy from partner traditions.
Upgrading the technological backend of our digital sanctuary to ensure it remains accessible even on the most remote borders.
Your prayers sustain our Ora; your voluntary financial solidarity fuels our Labora. Thank you for breathing life into the sails of this digital sanctuary.
Deeply rooted in Christ, scattered in service,
